12 REASONS WHY I do not SUPPORT Raila

Raila, an enigma, a mysterious man, the man who is the fulcrum of Kenyan politics, a man so much loved as well as hated by as many, a man full of humor and entertaining, a man whose eloquence makes it worth listening to him, a man who has lived trying to become a president in Kenya for the longest time but failed just so close to the presidency, etc.

I hereby declare I will not support his presidency bid, and here are my reasons why. It is not a must for you to read but for the sake of those who keep saying I fail to support Raila because he is a Luo, I hereby stand to prove you wrong if you read through the 12 reasons why I am not ready to support Raila.

5 REASONS Why I rarely buy in supermarkets, shopping malls and city stalls.

I still remember this very well; I was still a bachelor and I had gotten a low paying job immediately after completing college. During this particular time my salary was miserably late and I was staring at starvation with wide eyes. There was only Kshs 200 between me and poverty. Worse where I used to work I had to commute daily and pay Kshs 30 or 50 to work, same on my way home in the evening. With Kshs 200, it surely meant I could not survive the harsh life of urban area for more than a day.

In my neighborhood there was a shop owned by a Meru guy, we used to call him “murume”. So in the evening of my last Kshs 200 I approached Murume. After explaining to him my predicament he sorted me with 4 KG unga wa mahindi, some cooking oil, and some other food stuffs and gave me Kshs 1,000. Since we had established a good relationship with Murume, he knew I cannot miss to pay him when I finally get paid. With that, I was sorted out for another week or 2.

Come to think of it, even if am a loyal customer of Nakumatt, can I just walk in, pick good on their shelves with credit and walk out? Not at all! Even if I am to have a credit card, can you have that credit or debit card without the initial deposit? huh!

And there goes my reasons why I rarely buy in supermarkets, shopping malls and city stalls, but I choose to often buy from the little kiosks and vibanda’s in my neighborhood.

40 Facebook Comments that speaks volumes on how Frustrated Kenyans are with KPLC

Today I decided to go through Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited’s Facebook page and to say the least I am shocked by what I see.

The Facebook page is full of concerns from KPLC customers which remains totally unanswered. There are complains all over, some bordering on utter frustration caused by KPLC poor services to the area.

As a part of my curiosity I decided to copy the comments from frustrated Kenyans as found in KPLC’s Facebook page as they are and posted them in my blog for all to see. I only copied a few of them, but there are numerous!

Read them and think, is KPLC serving Kenyans or just enriching itself at the expense of helpless Kenyans?

I AM ALSO FOR NATIONAL DIALOGUE: Let us have it peacefully.

 According to proverbs 18:17 – 19 and I quote:

“…17 The first to plead his case seems right, until another comes and examines him. 18 The cast lot puts an end to strife and decides between the mighty ones. 19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a citadel.…”

These are wise words from the Scriptures written by the wisest man to ever live, King Solomon.

Honorable Raila has pointed out so many things that the current government needs to tackle. In my novice knowledge about the state of our Nation Kenya, there are issues that are cutting across irrespective of one’s tribe, religion, political affiliations etc and some of them are:

My LAST thought on WESTGATE MALL terrorist attack!

Last  year I wrote an article  A QUESTION ON SECURITY OFFICERS ATTACKS AND KILLINGS 
The article was basically questioning the manner in which the operation that was supposed to recover cattle from rustlers and bandits was carried out as to turn so tragic as to end up slaughtering more than 40 security officers in Suguta Valley. The other sad part was the manner of reporting that was being done concerning the operation and it was clear too that the whole operation was full of mysteries and cover ups. This questions even our journalism and its lack of consistency in reporting, just writing stories that are half-baked.

It is like Kenya never learns from the past mistakes and with the westgate mall attack, the same mistakes got not only repeated but magnified. Poor coordination of the police and KDF and other rescuers e.g. red-cross,  inconsistent reports from Internal Security Minister Ole Lenku, reports on the missing people, the exact time the mall was retaken from the terrorists and the fate of the last moment hostages, were there any captured/killed terrorists and any evidence to back the allegation as to dispel our doubts, etc

Toward NATIONAL COHESION

 Elections are now over and the political dust is settling down very fast. The country is now in the mood of working together and many people have come to the terms of the outcome of the elections and have already moved on with their normal lives. Many who think that the voting style was based mostly on ethnic blocs have also accepted the fate just as you cannot determine the direction of the wind that is blowing over the land.

With all the voices in our nation there seems to be a voice that is shouting above all the rest, that of National Cohesion.  Achieving a national cohesion is simply a theoretical move is we are not going to sow the seed of togetherness in our hearts and wait to yield the fruits of it thereafter. Ethnicity, tribalism whenever it is mentioned it sends some emotive feelings flying in our hearts and how we handle the feeling is what determines if we really are tribal or not.

6 KENYA’S SOCIETY Enemies we need to eliminate

With the just concluded general elections and all the pledges that the incoming government had promised to Kenyans, there are some problems that if they remain non resolved Kenyan society will not enjoy stability and prosperity as we so much anticipate. There are the problems that can be tackled at individual level before the government comes in to aid the public towards eradicating that problem all together and without the help of Kenyan citizens, the government can hardly fulfill its roles in the society.

Kenya is has reached a time when we all are anticipating for real changes with the new systems of governance where we have county governors, senators etc as we elected them that the previous governments did not have. But before we start putting too many hopes in the incoming government, I wish to point out some things which as citizens we can tackle them at individual level and leave the rest to the government and God.

The Hot Contest! KENYA PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE!

This was a historical moment for Kenyans. We got to experience something that we have never experienced and got to hear things that we have never heard. I am sure we also learned vital lessons from our Honorable Presidential Candidates who displayed their wisdom, intelligence, eloquence and power to think equally fast! One has to admit for sure that this debate was extremely interesting, educative, entertaining too and it got millions of Kenyans glued to their TV screens and busy listening to their various radio stations. After all, we all were really eagerly anticipating for this debate.

But apart from just listening to the debate, what are the key issues that were addressed? Are there challenges facing the presidential candidates towards addressing the issues that got discussed? What can we do as Kenyan Citizens to see that the issues takes a more realistic and personal dimension regardless of who is voted in as our next president? Read on…

Why I love Kenya as MY COUNTRY!

I am proud as a Kenyan. Why? Kenya is a third world country that happens to be one of the most wonderful and magical tourist destinations in the world. Kenya exudes such an awesome attraction to the rest of the world and it is not a wonder that there are so many tourist destinations in Kenya that are known all over the world, besides Kenya attracting numerous foreign investors. Kenya also enjoys a rapidly growing economy compared to her neighboring countries and has become such a good trading partner to the neighboring countries besides offering land-based delivery services to the land locked countries e.g. Uganda.

I love Kenya as my country, and I believe that with proper management and good governance of this nation, Kenya is able to become one of the richest countries in the world, if not in Africa. What makes Kenya wonderful?

8 FACTS about the intrigues of KENYAN POLITICAL games

Kenyan politics have a way of mesmerizing someone until you just desire more out of the game regardless of whether you are political or not. Kenyan politicians have mastered ways of hooking up the modern Kenyan society with their political games where the most active and diligent players gets rewarded with a post in one of the highly desired public offices in Kenya, whether to sail into everlasting prosperity and wealth or to enhance the lives of Kenyans who appointed them into those post in the hopes that they will make a difference and enhance the general lives of citizens through enhancing the status of the society as per their solemn promises once they attain those positions.

But politics in Kenya is a game where victory is determined by myriad of factors which may work in favor of a politician or general public, or may just lead to woes and misery if the victors are people who do not deserve the hard earned victory.
