Having stayed in Coast for close to 20 years, I have made an observation among young men and women from the region which is disgusting.The young ladies and men claim that Europeans are more loving, romantic, caring etc and thus most grown with an ambition of getting married to them. The fact that they are so common in Coast due to tourism makes the illusion seem a reality.

But I find it so disgusting when a young man of 20s full of hot blood in his life marries an over 60 Years old woman who is past living, pretend to be so much in love with the old lady, while in reality the man wishes the lady would die and he inherits her wealth! Worse, these young men continue entertaining other young girls in an extravagant way from money gotten from this old woman!

This scene is famous in Coastal beaches.

Some ladies too, in their 20s, very beautiful, gets married to men older than their fathers, some even 90 years old!...claim to love this old man while all along she is there for money and ‘good’ life!, or even has a string of young men who quench her sexual thirst since this old man cannot.

I have seen a young man in Malindi, with his wife but when the season of “wazungus” is on, he sends his wife to the reserve so that he can get time to “milk” the old wazungu ladies, and use the money to upkeep his family when the season is low…worse the wife approves of that life!

Some lady, was married to an Italian old man over 70 yrs old, had a nice beach plot house where when the season is low and the Mzungu us in Italy, his legitimate husband would take over but when the Mzungu us back, he would pretend to be a Shamba boy and sleep in servant quarters, and the Mzungu never knew of this arrangement!!

This habit is rampant in Coast and most young ladies and gentlemen grow up dreaming of getting a Mzungu!...and they dare claim the Wazungus are romantic…kumbe all they want is their money!!

A friend of mine who is 32 years old now, I asked him, “How can I get a mzungu as you did?”. He quickly answered me, “All you need are sweet words and a strong dick, assh*le or pussy!” He is currently married to a 61 years old Italian lady, they live in Italy but he has a wife in Malindi with 2 children!! Talk of Earning a living through romance!

All you need in order to make it in this type of dating is good connections and social network. Some people are so good in hooking up the young ladies and guys to the wazungus. Most wazungus also pick their girls in the hotels who go there to entertain them in events like beach parties, beauty pageants, bikini parties, pool parties etc.

The men take up into being beach boys, dancers, entertainers, tour guides etc. just any work that will expose them to the wazungus.

The daring even pose as gays and prostitutes! This is a booming business where the body is the bait. You have to be attractive to attract their attention, or have to have a talent or whatever that will place you on a competitive edge.

Coast region is also famous for child prostitution and sex tourism, and places like Malindi town are notorious for that. Even parents are known to deliberately encourage their daughters to hawk themselves to the Wazungus for some “income” and some parents even sell of their daughters to the wazungus!

Mtwapa, a small town along Mombasa- Malindi highway is famous for this. There are tourists who can’t point at Kenya on the map of Africa, but they know where Mtwapa is. They arrive here and they just want to go to Mtwapa. People call it Sodom and Gomorrah, because it’s not unusual to see girls, barely in their teens, hanging on the arms of 50-year-old men.

Some of the local communities have what I call Mzungu (white person) Syndrome. A Mzungu has money and will solve all their problems – that’s what they believe. Plus, some parents who work in hotels befriend tourists and bring them to their homes, in essence entrapping them. Some people around here are also lazy... not all of them, just some... and sex work is an easy way out. (Italisized text quoted from DM Magazine)

Blame it on laziness where some people think once you get married or marry a Mzungu, your life is now a heaven on earth. But horrible stories have been told of some who get married to the whites, go with them in their countries and meet a real hell on earth there!

The most disgusting thing is these young ladies and gentlemen who get married to these Wazungus even hate to be seen with them in public, hate to have sex with them and even hate them! There only love their money.

So next time you hear someone saying that Wazungus are more romantic than African, just dismiss that illusion statement. The reality is, that is just a cover up.
